My Work - Scientific Outreach

Every new scientific discovery has the potential of deeply impacting our lives and our planet: Isn't it fundamental to be informed?

With the development of social media such as Twitter and Facebook, people have simpler and quicker access to facts and information, including scientific information. However, the biggest drawback of easily accessible knowledge is that not everything that you find out there is checked for quality or truthfulness. Nonetheless, too often the more sensational the news, the more quickly it spreads initiating debates among people that have no sufficient information to develop fact-based opinions. This can be very dangerous. While I believe in the dream of getting more and more people interested in science, I also believe in the importance of sharing good quality scientific information, in particular by vulgarizing specialistic literature into more accessible material for the lay public.

In my portfolio (you can read my articles below) you will find accessible scientific information, mainly directed to a non-specialized audience. My promise to you: facts are checked and up-to-date with current literature at the time of writing. My main interest is in the fields of synthetic biology and biocatalysis, but I am happy to write about any scientific discipline.
